Learning Objects Repository - FAQ

The OSAPAC Learning Objects Repository is a collection of resources, designed by Ontario Educators and Vendors of Ministry Licensed software, made freely available for Ontario educators to download and use in their classrooms.

The resources are created by educators who have used the Ministry licensed software in their classes. The lessons using the resources were successful and they wish to share these items with other teachers in Ontario.

A submission and approval process is in place. To submit a resource, contact Karen Kasik for more details.

Just find the resource that you want and click the Download button. Once the resource is downloaded, you can view the activity, launch the files, print the manual etc.

Contact your OESS representative. You can search for this representative at the OESS website.

The purpose of the Learning Object Repository is to provide high quality resources for Ontario classrooms. District workshop leaders are encouraged to download the resources and use them in workshops. Please let participants know of the Repository so that they can get more quality resources. Commercial use is prohibited and common courtesies should be extended to the original author.

A great deal of time, effort and custom programming went into the development of the interface. The simplest way to find a resource is to click on the grid identifying grade and subject area. Click on this LINK to go directly to the Repository and try it out!

Check the repository regularly. Objects are added to the repository as we get them. To find out what's hot, click here, then click the 'Top 10' tab!

Most titles in the OESS collection feature teacher take-home rights for teachers in publicly funded Ontario educational institutes for lesson preparation. If you search the software database, you'll see a field indicating whether or not you may use the software at home for your lesson preparation.

The OSAPAC committee maintains a secure FirstClass Conferencing system. School District curriculum leaders and technical staff are encouraged to apply for accounts on this system. Once connected, they are invited to read and take part in the various support conferences online.

Information about individual software titles is available from the software CDs and/or vendor websites. You might want to check the Conference Corner to see if there is an upcoming conference that suits your needs
