accomplishments of these groups include:
- Software for the Icon
computer - imagine networking in the classroom in the early 1980's!
- Development of software
evaluation forms to compare software A with software B with connections
to curriculum! Not just software for the sake of software.
- Development of rubrics
to evaluate software
- Creation of the OSAPAC
Software Catalogue, first on paper and then on the new paper saving
medium --- diskettes!
- Defining Desktop Publishing
in the Ontario context with the licensing of Microsoft Publisher
- Licensing of First Class
software to promote communication among educational professionals
- Licensing of professional
software tools - WordPerfect Office, CorelDRAW!, Filemaker Pro
- Moving the industry
to recognize two radical concepts: unlimited licensing for a province,
and teacher takehome rights
